What is an Accredited Specialist in Family Law?
An Accredited Specialist is a Lawyer who has been practicing law for at least 5 years (often longer) with extensive knowledge about a broad range of Family Law, like parenting, property division, Financial Agreements, spousal maintenance, divorce, family violence, child support, interstate and international relocation, international child abduction, bankrupt spouses in Family Law cases and injunctions.
The Lawyer must pass three intense exams set by the Law Institute of Victoria – a 3.5 hour written exam, a 1-hour simulated interview with a paid actor and a mock client file to write a letter of advice and drat Court documents.
